In line with the European Green Deal’s objective to enhance environmental sustainability, a new step is being taken. The draft of the "Framework Regulation on the Eco-Design Requirements for Sustainable Products," which is planned to be implemented in Türkiye, will initiate a new era requiring the production of environmentally friendly, durable, and recyclable products. So, what does this draft regulation mean? What changes will it bring for businesses, manufacturers, and consumers?
The draft aims to ensure that products are designed to be environmentally friendly from the very beginning. It targets the reduction of environmental impacts throughout the product’s entire life cycle—production, usage, recycling, and disposal.
Still in draft form, this regulation is currently open for public consultation. Once feedback is collected and evaluated, it is expected to be published in the Official Gazette and come into force.
At Mol-e, through our digital waste management platform, we provide digital support for the transition to eco-design for both producers and consumers. We offer sustainable solutions for digital waste passports, environmental reporting, recycling tracking, and e-waste management.
This new framework regulation draft is not just a legal arrangement; it also envisions a complete restructuring of the production-consumption chain based on environmental responsibility. For businesses, this transformation should be seen not as a burden, but as an opportunity to strengthen competitiveness.
